Disapproved products in Merchant Center
The feed and the page are one product. Google reads both.
A disapproved product is an offer Google will not show. The diagnostics name the attribute: price, identifier, availability, image, variant. On Shopify the usual cause is a landing page that does not say what the feed submitted. Fix both sides, then request a review of the item if the account asks for one.
The five we see most
- Price mismatch: the number, the currency, or the shipping the shopper meets.
- Missing or duplicate GTIN: a blank identifier, or one you made up.
- Availability: in stock in the feed, sold out on the page.
- Images: placeholders, text-heavy graphics, or a photo of a different product.
- Variants: a parent URL that hides the size or color the feed is selling.
Account versus item
A handful of disapproved items can sit on a healthy account. A pattern of them, especially prices and policies, is how a warning becomes a suspension. Google’s issues overview describes warnings, disapprovals and the review you can request.
Questions people ask
Why are my Shopify products disapproved in Merchant Center?
The product page and the feed disagree on price, availability or identifiers, or the landing page cannot be opened. Google compares the page people land on with the data in Merchant Center.
Should I delete every disapproved item?
Delete items you will not sell. Fix items you will. Emptying the feed to look clean, then uploading everything after approval, is described by Google as a serious abuse on some price issues.
Does the audit fix the products?
The audit, from $499, lists every point that needs work. Editing the products is quoted if you want us to do it.
