Suspended for suspicious payment activity
This one is about the card and the billing profile.
Suspicious payment activity is a Google Ads billing policy. Google may pause or suspend an account for stolen cards, unclear ownership, a rush of new cards, declined payments or chargebacks. The fix and the appeal are in Google Ads: a payment method you are allowed to use, and the verification they ask for. We do not manage Ads billing.
What Google lists
- A card you do not own and were not allowed to use.
- Someone else’s identity on invoicing.
- Several new cards, declines, or chargebacks, with unclear billing details.
A paused account is sometimes restored after payment verification. Google’s page on paused ads describes a code and an email with a decision. A full suspension is heavier. None of that runs through Merchant Center. If Shopping also stopped, check whether Google is blocking the Merchant Center review because Ads is linked and suspended.
Questions people ask
Can a Merchant Center fix clear a payment suspension?
No. Payment suspensions are resolved in Google Ads billing. A store review does not touch the card.
I requested a chargeback. Is that why?
Google’s billing page says a chargeback on a legitimate Ads balance can suspend the account. Read their billing suspensions page before you do it again.
