Policies
Merchant Center policies the store has to meet
A policy page counts when a shopper can use it.
Merchant Center policies are the rules for Shopping ads and free listings. The ones that suspend otherwise normal stores are rarely obscure. They are returns, shipping, who you are, and a product page that matches the offer. Restricted products are a separate gate.
Read these first
- Returns and refunds: window, method, fees, and a page of their own.
- Shipping: cost and time, on the site and in the account.
- Business address: one findable business, including when the office is a domiciliation.
- Landing page: title, price, availability, image and a way to buy.
- Restricted products: healthcare, adult, counterfeit and the claims around them.
Misrepresentation is the policy that ties these together. If you were suspended, start at that page as well. The policy list for free listings is here.
Questions people ask
Do I need a lawyer to write these pages?
You need pages that are true for this store. A copied policy from another niche is a common mismatch, even when the grammar is perfect.
Is the footer enough?
The footer has to link to the pages. The pages have to say the window, the cost and the address. A link to an empty template is not a policy.
Which policy causes misrepresentation?
Usually several small ones at once: identity, returns, and a price. One missing phone number is a clue, not always the whole case.
