Landing page
Landing page requirements
The URL in the feed is the product. Not a homepage. Not a PDF.
Every product URL in Merchant Center has to show that product: title, description, image, price, currency, availability, and a way to buy. Google says the page has to match for a crawler, not only for a shopper who already clicked around. A file, a login wall, or a homepage is not a landing page.
On the page, visibly
- The product in the feed, not a related one.
- The price and currency for the country you submitted.
- Whether it can be bought, preordered, or is out of stock.
- A checkout that does not add a surprise fee the page denied.
- Links onward that work, including back to the store.
Structured data should repeat the price and availability, not invent a second offer. If a test, a geo popup or a password hides the price from Google, the product fails even when you can see it in your browser.
Questions people ask
Can the landing page be a collection?
No. Link the specific product. A collection makes Google guess.
Do title and description have to be identical to the feed?
Google says they do not have to be identical, but they have to refer to the same product.
What about out-of-stock items?
The page should say so. Availability is part of the requirement, not an optional badge.
