Upload limit

The new-account product upload limit

The cap is in your account. Coherence matters more than filling it.

Short answer

New Merchant Center accounts are limited in how many products they can submit. The number is shown in the account. It is not a single public figure you can quote for every store, and it can change. Hitting the maximum on day one, with thin or unrelated products, does not get you approved faster.

How to use the room you have

  1. Read the limit in Merchant Center. Ignore blog posts that swear it is always 50, or always 1,000.
  2. Submit products with finished pages, prices and policies first.
  3. Keep one niche until that set is clean in diagnostics.
  4. Expand when the account allows it, with the same standard.
  5. Do not delete the catalog to sneak through a review and restore it the next day. Google describes that pattern as abuse on price-mismatch cases.

A large catalog can be approved. “Large on day one” is the search people type. The store still has to look like one merchant. Our audit reads the catalog you have, it does not raise Google’s cap.

Questions people ask

What is the exact product limit?

Look in your Merchant Center account. Publishing a universal number would be wrong the next time Google changes it.

I hit the limit and items are pending. What now?

Fix diagnostics on the products already there. Pending plus a broken returns page is not a limit problem.

Can you remove the limit?

No. Only the account’s own standing with Google changes that. We can tell you whether the products under the limit are ready.
