Get a Merchant Center account approved

The first review is easier when the store is already one business.

Short answer

A new Merchant Center account is reviewed against the same policies as a suspended one. Identity, a real website, shipping and returns, and products whose pages match the feed. New accounts also face a product limit. Uploading a huge unrelated catalog on day one makes that first review worse, not safer.

“What Google checks” is not a secret score. It is the Shopping policies plus the product data specification, read against your site. The 144-point list is our way of doing that read on Shopify.

Questions people ask

How long does the first review take?

Google describes pending reviews in business days, and says extra edits during the review can delay it. Finish the site, then submit.

Can a brand-new domain be approved?

Yes, if the business is explainable. A domain registered yesterday with no policies and a thousand products is a weak first impression.

Is the audit only for suspensions?

No. The same review is how a new Shopify store finds the points that will fail the first pass. It starts at $499.
