Price mismatch on Shopify

The price in the feed has to be the price on the page.

Short answer

Price mismatch means Google opened the landing page and did not find the price you submitted. On Shopify that includes the number, the currency, a sale price that ended, and a market that shows a different figure to the crawler. Automatic item updates can help only when the page markup is the price you really charge.

Check these four

  1. The feed price and sale_price against the product page, for the country in the issue.
  2. Compare-at price. A crossed-out number is not the price. The price people pay is.
  3. Currency. A $ in the feed and a € on the page is a mismatch even when the digits match.
  4. Shipping added only in the cart, if the landing page promised something else. The shipping policy has to agree too.

Do not shrink the feed to pass

Google’s page on price mismatch as an abuse of the network describes merchants who cut the catalog before a review and restore it after approval. That path can add a long wait, including a 28-day example on that specific issue. Fix the prices. Leave the real catalog in place.

Questions people ask

Why does Shopify show the right price to me?

You may be seeing your market, your currency, or a draft. Google fetches the URL as a crawler. Geolocation and personalization can hide the price you see.

Will automatic item updates solve it?

They can overwrite a stale price from the page markup. They cannot invent a price the page does not show.

Is a tax-inclusive price required?

Submit the price the shopper in that country is charged, the way the product data specification describes it. Then make the page show that same price.
