Connection
Connect Shopify to Merchant Center
Verify the domain, claim it, then sync. In that order.
Connecting Shopify to Merchant Center is three checks: you control the domain, this Merchant Center account has claimed it, and the Google channel is sending products into that account. A feed that arrives on an unclaimed domain, or on a second account, looks connected and still fails review.
Do it in this order
- Use the public domain, with HTTPS, not a temporary preview URL.
- Verify and claim the domain in Merchant Center. See verification.
- In Shopify, connect the Google channel to that same account.
- Confirm a product link opens the Shopify product page, in the right country and currency.
- Set shipping and returns in Merchant Center so they match the policy pages.
- Watch diagnostics for a day before you add the entire catalog.
Search Console on the same domain shows whether Google can crawl the product URLs. Our review uses read-only Search Console access for that. It does not replace the claim step.
Questions people ask
The channel says connected, but products are missing. Why?
The domain may be unverified, the target country may be wrong, or the products may be denied in Shopify’s sales channel.
Can I use a spreadsheet instead?
Yes. The landing page rules do not change. A sheet with the wrong URL is still the wrong URL.
Do you connect it for me?
During an engagement we can. The audit lists what is wrong if the connection already exists. Setup work beyond the list is part of a quote when you want the Done.
